I Care a Lot (2021) on Netflix

Plot summary

Marla Grayson convinces judges to grant her guardianship of older people who she claims cannot look after themselves. She has them admitted to an assisted living facility, where medication keeps them sedated and out of touch with anyone outside, then sells their houses and belongings and keeps the money. Her girlfriend Fran is her business partner. Dr. Karen Amos brings her a new client, the wealthy retiree Jennifer Peterson, who appears to have no husband or close family. Marla and the doctor testify that Jennifer is confused and losing her mobility, and a judge appoints Marla as her guardian. Jennifer's furniture, car and home are put up for sale, and outside the courthouse Mr. Feldstrom, whom Marla and the court have kept away from his own mother, threatens her.
