Plot summary
Bill Johnson suffers a violent heart attack, and his doctor advises him to bring his blood pressure down by removing the stresses from his life. Bill takes the instruction literally. With poisoned darts, he begins killing ordinary people who irritate him, and the killings do lower his blood pressure for a while. The killings also draw the attention of Detective Paul Jordan, who toys with Bill in an odd game of cat and mouse, unsure whether to arrest the man behind the darts or join his campaign. Meanwhile, stresses closer to home send Bill's blood pressure climbing again.
