Plot summary

By the year 3313, humans have become a minority in the galaxy, overtaken by a clone race called Homo technis, also known as the Konstrukts, which is itself being pushed aside by the genetically engineered Homo superior. The Homo superior have taken DNA from hostile extraterrestrials, the Nephilim, whose military skills they now use to wipe out the Homo sapiens and Homo technis alike. To keep the lower races alive, Homo technis develops a line of humans called breeders, able to carry several births to term in a short time. The Homo superior destroy every breeder on Earth but one man and one woman. Derasi Vorde, a disgraced soldier who is himself a breeder, is given the task of bringing Earth's last female breeder to a rebel base.
