- In 1997, the bestselling romance writer Janet Dailey admitted to repeatedly plagiarizing Nora Roberts's work after a reader noticed matching passages in Roberts's Sweet Revenge and Dailey's Notorious and posted them online; Roberts sued, calling the plagiarism "mind-boggling".
- Nora Roberts began writing during a blizzard in February 1979, with three feet of snow, a dwindling supply of chocolate and no morning kindergarten for her two sons; she quickly produced six manuscripts for Harlequin, all of which were repeatedly rejected.
- Roberts was the first inductee into the Romance Writers of America's Hall of Fame, and the group's Lifetime Achievement Award, which she won in 1997, was renamed the RWA Nora Roberts Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008.
