Plot summary
Charlie Burnz is a comedy writer of long standing whose memory is no longer dependable. The lunch date won at an auction goes to Emma Payge, a young singer who takes it to get back at the ex-boyfriend who paid for it. Their meal ends at a hospital after a severe reaction to shellfish, and Charlie is stuck with the bill. A doctor has told Charlie his memory trouble is an early stage of dementia, and neither his family nor his employer knows.
