Plot summary
Hercules wakes from a dream in which a woman he finds in the snow freezes and explodes. In a cave a young man shows him the corpses of the men of his village, killed for their youth and strength, and an old woman chained at the Fountain of Youth. Hercules frees her, then carries away water from the fountain to heal Chiron, the satyr he wounded, but the wound worsens. Fires across the village are going out. At Hera's temple, Deianeira tries to persuade a priest to share the fire, and he refuses. She says they need to talk to Prometheus, so she and Hercules set out.

Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Hercules and the Circle of Fire is loosely based on the myth of Prometheus: its captured-Prometheus plot mirrors the first-season Xena: Warrior Princess episode "Prometheus", though there mankind is robbed of healing rather than fire.
- Footage of Prometheus from the film was reused for the opening title sequence of the television series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys.
