Plot summary
Danny shares a house in Brisbane with his friend Flip and other roommates, among them Milo, Otis and Taylor, a Russian with military obsessions. Danny wants to be a writer, but a Centrelink officer ridicules the idea. An English girl named Sam joins the household's drunken talk about love and asks Danny whether he actually writes. Anya, a mysterious foreigner, comes to ask about a room and says she is a strict vegetarian. Milo and Otis both pursue her while Danny searches for inspiration. Thugs arrive demanding the rent the residents owe and give them a week to find the money.
