Grumpy Old Santa (2023) on Netflix

Plot summary

Five years after his wife Penny left, Nic Monts is still in Hallsville, Texas, working the oilfields and spending his free hours bowling and fishing. His best friend, Pastor Kris, is again looking ahead to the town's Grumpy Old Santa tournament, and this year Maddie, Nic's daughter, will only be home for Thanksgiving, not to bowl. Kris's sister Sandy, a Dallas police officer about to retire, is moving back to East Texas, and Kris suggests her as Nic's partner for the tournament. Nic, meanwhile, is trying a dating app called Lazo and has asked Maddie to help him with it. At Kris and Julie's Thanksgiving table, Sandy arrives in a blue Bronco, and subtle flirtation between her and Nic follows.
