Plot summary
Most of the golfers who once played at Pennytree have moved to the Bentwood Country Club next door, and Bentwood's owner, Simon Roosevelt, is not satisfied with that. He wants the Pennytree property for a condominium complex. Liberty Pennytree, whose grandfather Josh runs what remains of the club, learns what he is after and decides to fight for the customers. She cannot match his money, so she hires a new staff of women and men recruited from dance clubs, strip clubs and the beach. They wear hot uniforms, offer massages and operate the cart wash. Busloads of golfers arrive, and the money starts coming in, which Simon notices.
