Plot summary
Sixteen-year-old Silver Morgan has earlier brushes with the law. When a young woman fights off an attempted rape on a cliff, the attacker falls to his death, and circumstantial evidence places Silver at the scene. She has an alibi, yet she becomes the leading suspect and is sent to Girls Town, a village where nuns supervise young women who have broken the law. There she lives with Serafina Garcia and other juvenile delinquents. Trouble and misunderstandings follow, and Silver proves rebellious.

- When Girls Town was released in Italy in 1960, the Committee for the Theatrical Review of the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage ordered the removal of a scene in which Silver showers while singing "Hey Mama", judging it offensive to decency. The order, document number 32004, was signed on June 1, 1960 by Minister Domenico Magrì.
