Plot summary
Dan Mueller works construction, and at home he is dealing with the discipline problems of his teenage daughter, Daisy, while also pursuing a wrongful death lawsuit. The strain leads him to assault a rude motorist on a job, which Rita, an actor at the community theater across the street, witnesses. Rita invites him to read for the part of Lord Capulet in the theater's production of Romeo and Juliet.

- Kelly O'Sullivan wrote the lead role of Dan specifically for Keith Kupferer, whom she had worked with in a 2014 Chicago production of The Humans. Kupferer's real daughter Katherine Mallen Kupferer auditioned and won the part of his character's daughter Daisy, and his wife Tara Mallen was cast as his wife Sharon.
