Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Ghost was shot in London over two weeks in February 2018 using two iPhone 8 smartphones with the FiLMiC Pro app, Moondog Labs anamorphic adapters and a DJI Osmo gimbal; James worked in a Cassavetes-inspired DIY guerrilla style with improvisation-based Mumblecore methods.
- Writer-director Anthony Z. James said the recent death of his own father was the main inspiration for the film, wanting to explore their relationship through a gritty crime drama, "the kind of movie he loved the most".
- Anthony Mark Streeter, who plays ex-con Tony Ward, first starred in James's 2018 short Day One about a man's first day out of prison; his performance there persuaded James to develop Ghost as a feature.
