Plot summary
David Bourne is an American writer and a veteran of World War I. In the late 1920s, while in Paris, he meets Catherine Hill, and after a whirlwind romance the two marry. They set out together on a long honeymoon that carries them through the south of France and on into Spain. David has a book to write along the way, a work of nonfiction about the travels he made as a child in Africa with his father, an explorer and a big game hunter.
