Plot summary
A German tourist drowns in the water off Praia do Futuro, and the lifeguard Donato cannot save him. Donato feels the death was his fault. He meets one of the dead man's friends and decides to leave his present self behind. He travels to Berlin and looks for Konrad, a German he met on that beach and once saved from drowning. Whenever he drifts, Ayrton, his younger brother, brings him back.
