Plot summary
Meg, a gourmet chef, wants a baby, and her husband Duffy Bergman, a political cartoonist in New York, agrees to try for one. Their attempts fail, so he tells her to put her career first. After his mother dies, Duffy becomes set on fathering a child. Meg is trying to open her own restaurant and no longer treats a baby as a priority. The difference grows into marital problems. Duffy travels to Arizona to speak at a Delta Gamma sorority convention, where the women are, he says, his Love Goddesses.
