Plot summary
Dorothy Yates killed and partly ate at least six people, and in 1957 she and her husband Edmund were sent to an institution for the criminally insane. Fifteen years on, doctors declare them fit and they move to an isolated farmhouse in Surrey. Jackie, Edmund's daughter from an earlier marriage, lives in London and makes nighttime visits to her father and stepmother, carrying parcels of animal brain. She also watches over her half-sister Debbie, who is fifteen, has just been thrown out of an orphanage and now stays with her. Debbie rides with her boyfriend Alec Marini, who leads a violent biker gang. Dorothy, thought cured, lures lonely young women to the house with the promise of tea and a tarot reading.
