Plot summary
A domestic terrorist group fails in an attempt on the life of President Jonathan Hayes, and its leader, Michael Smith, is captured. Eight weeks later, the president believes the danger has passed and arranges an outdoors trip for his teenage daughter Jess, who is weary of public life and of the agents around her. Jess resents Alex McGregor, the Secret Service agent assigned to come along, over a misread embrace between Alex and her father, and spreads rumors about her. Terrorists hiding in the same woods notice the armed bodyguards and recognize Jess. They seize her, intending to trade her for Smith. Alex follows with river guide Grant Coleman.
