Plot summary
Bogdan is an internationally acclaimed concert pianist. When his wife Iza dies, he retires from the stage and seeks comfort at his mother's little farm, in the village on the Baltic coast. There, as children, he and Iza had promised each other love forever. Everything has changed for him now, and Bogdan succumbs to fate and drinks heavily. His mother is resolute; she has a formula to free her despairing son from his lethargy, and it is the run-down farmhouse that needs renovating and the stables that need hard work.
