Plot summary
Charlie Swift served as a Marine Corps officer and lives in Biloxi, Mississippi. For twenty years he has worked as a fixer and hitman for Stan Mullen, a mob boss. Beggar, a mob boss from New Orleans, leads the crew of the 9th ward. Stan sends Charlie and Blade to kill Rollo Kramer and bring the body to Beggar. Marcie Kramer, Rollo's ex-wife, works as a taxidermist and identifies Rollo's body by a tattoo on his back. Back at Stan's house for a birthday celebration, the group talks about retirement, and Charlie says that Italy is where he wants to go once he stops working. Stan warns him to keep away from Beggar. At a lunch marking Rollo's death, Charlie sends Marcie a raccoon to be taxidermied.
