Plot summary
Jax Hunter is still mourning her sister Shiloh. When Shiloh's friend Luce arrives to buy Shiloh's recovered truck, she finds a scrapbook inside it listing the places Shiloh meant to climb and film stunts for her followers, and she persuades Jax to come along to Thailand's Mount Kwan for a plank walk to a dragon statue that is said to eat your fears. In a secluded bar, a code phrase leads the two to Jon, a non-native guide who agrees, for a fee Luce pays, to take them up the peak. Jon warns them that the mountain is permanently closed, with earthquakes, rock slides and rain among the dangers. On the restricted climb Jax nearly falls from a ladder, and the pair and their guide use a clip-in clip-out method to pass the Devil's Elbow.
