Plot summary
Margot Romero works as a content moderator for Kino, a video-sharing platform, and her job is to filter out clips the site calls offensive or violent. During a shift she finds a video of a decapitation that looks real, and at first she assumes it is staged. A second clip, of a death by electric chair, worries her more. When she asks for a second opinion, the request is dismissed, which appears tied to her past part in a trend that ended with her sister's gruesome death. A third video, of a scalping, alarms her, and that concern is shut down too. At home, her roommate Ryan gives her a lipstick knife.
