Plot summary
Heiko Degener and Tommy Zierer are friends in communist Berlin in the 1980s, a city that has become disgusting to them. They dream of escaping the oppression of the GDR and they attempt to cross the border; the attempt lands them in jail. In the GDR's model prisons, neo-Nazi groups are in charge, and Tommy, experienced and courageous, already knows the harsh orders there. Heiko is the sluggish and closed one of the two. Inside, only the informers and the most violent prisoners survive, and to endure their incarceration the two friends allow themselves to be drawn into the neo-Nazi movement around them.
