Plot summary
On Christmas Eve, Corporal Meredith Cole, absent without leave and accused of assaulting a commanding officer, slips away from Sergeant Archie Sparks, the military policeman holding her. She boards an American Auto Coach bus bound for El Paso with nine other travelers. Crossing Texas, the coach passes a band of nomadic, meth-addicted bikers, who perform stunts around it to taunt the passengers. One rider makes a mistake and goes under the wheels, and the rest of the gang turns on the bus.
