Plot summary
Jabari is an artist in streetwear who is close to real success. The graffiti he paints around the city centers on a character named Mr. Rager, and that character has been chosen to become a comic. Jabari moves into his dream apartment in Manhattan. A chance run-in follows with Meadow, the photographer who lives next door. Jabari has to work out whether love can fit into the life he is building.

- Entergalactic is dedicated to Kid Cudi's friend, the American fashion designer Virgil Abloh, who worked as a costume designer on the project before his death; the special's release date coincided with Abloh's birth date.
- Kid Cudi recorded the music first, "a suite of songs on the beauty of being freed by love", and worked backward to storyboard the narrative, hiring a writing team to script it only after that.
- Kid Cudi originally planned Entergalactic as a live-action series, but Kenya Barris convinced him to make it an animated series instead, which became the 2022 special.
- The animation was drawn by DNEG Animation in London, which also co-produced the special, and a 3D map of New York was downloaded and rebuilt in the pipeline.
