Plot summary
Abbot Reeves is a renegade scientist whose time travel experiments serve a plan to rule the world. From the body of John, a pilot injured in a plane crash, he constructs a cyborg called the Mandroid. When Reeves orders the Mandroid dismantled, Reeves' assistant Takada helps the machine escape and directs him to Colonel Nora Hunter. Hunter believed Reeves dead, and she recognizes her own designs for a Mars probe inside the Mandroid; she repairs the damage from his escape. The Mandroid intends to stop Reeves, and Hunter insists on coming along as his mechanic, bringing S.P.O.T., her small flying scout robot. In Mexico she hires Harry Fontana, a riverboat captain, and the group heads down a river in search of Reeves' fortress. Kuji, a ninja and the son of Doctor Takada, joins them looking for his father.
