Plot summary
Eleuterio Sánchez, called El Lute, is held in the Puerto de Santa María prison. Once he is out, he joins his children, and the family sets off together, with the Civil Guard hunting him. His jail escapes made him notorious in Spain in the 1960s. The family moves from one place to the next, staying out of the way. Poverty is with them and the pursuit does not let up, so the road goes on. Eleuterio is fighting for his life and his freedom, and he dreams of living as his countrymen do. The story continues from El Lute: camina o revienta.
