Plot summary
The United States men's national soccer team is flying home from a World Cup match in Brazil when the plane goes down off an uninhabited Malaysian island. Fifteen survivors reach the shore, among them team captain Slim and assistant captain Andreas, along with Elena and her sister Eva. Food and water are scarce, and no rescue appears to be coming. On the first day, when a shark appears, Kennefick panics and the food salvaged from the wreck is lost. Disagreements over how to survive split the survivors into two camps, a violent faction under Andreas and a compassionate one under Slim.
