Plot summary
Maya Dolittle's gift for speaking with animals leaves her unconvinced that veterinary school is necessary. While she is out with Lucky, a cat stuck in a tree responds to her, and the episode brings her to the attention of others. The Hollywood star Tiffany Monaco then takes her to Los Angeles to help a small puppy, and soon the two of them are assembling a show called The Animal Talkers. Maya also meets Brandon, whose pet is a Shetland sheepdog named Emmy, and becomes romantically interested in him. Her friend Monkey has traveled to Los Angeles too, chasing a big break.
