Plot summary
FBI agent Zack Stewart is shot while interviewing a woman, and his boss, John Ripley, picks up the three cases Stewart had just been given. One is the hunt for Joe Walpo, a fugitive wanted for killing a gas-station attendant. Another belongs to Kate Martell, who buys fashions for a department store and whose daughter has been threatened by a man demanding money from her. A third involves a gang that hijacks cars. Ripley works the files with a new partner and the help of L.A.P.D. detectives, since whoever is behind one of the cases is also the person who shot Stewart.
