Plot summary
A lonely insurance adjuster with wild sexual fantasies, Willard Isenbaum decides to propose to Susie, the new secretary he has known for a day and has never spoken to. He spends the morning before work fantasizing about her, and his attempts to approach her fail. His boss then sends him out on the claim of Painless Martha, an aging tattoo artist. Martha believes a Ouija board message that a wizard will kill her with a bomb on Tuesday. Willard tells her the insurance company pays nothing until her death, and her will requires whoever caused her death to look after the duck. The duck then takes Willard along on a surreal quest to make him less uptight.

- Because Down and Dirty Duck was X-rated, The New York Times refused to run its advertisement, an awkward situation, since the ad included a positive review from The New York Times.
- Charles Swenson said he created almost all of the animation for the film himself, while publicity credited the work to the Murakami-Wolf Production Company; the production budget was $110,000.
- Roger Corman saw the working title Cheap! as a jab at his own production methods and asked for it to be changed; director Mick Garris thought Corman did not want to release a film called Roger Corman's Cheap!
