- Co-stars Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan fell in love while making Dhoom 2, their fourth film together, and married the following year.
- A robbery was allegedly inspired by Dhoom 2, the robber wearing clothes like Hrithik Roshan's in the film, and Aishwarya Rai received legal notices from viewers and fans over her kissing scene with Roshan.
- The train stunts Hrithik Roshan performed in the Namib Desert used green screen: he shot his part on a set, then director Sanjay Gadhvi travelled to the desert to film the background.
- The shot of Abhishek Bachchan coming out of a lake on a jet ski was made with a green screen; it came out at 90 degrees but Gadhvi wanted a 60-degree jump, so it was shot with Super 35 and the angle could be changed.
- Because Dhoom had become famous for brash motorcycle stunts, director Sanjay Gadhvi put very few motorcycles in Dhoom 2; Hrithik Roshan still did dangerous stunts on roller-blades, sand board and snowboard.
