Plot summary
Sherry calls her sister Akemi to see an experiment she is running for the Black Organization. In a bar called Black Widow, a man beside Vodka learns the Organization has a rat problem, and his car explodes. Shinichi Kudo tells Ran Mouri he left soccer to develop the reflexes a detective needs, naming Sherlock Holmes. At Sonoko's home, Takanori Sewa has received threatening letters before his New Year's party and turns down Shinichi's offer of help; the party is interrupted by a murder. At Tropical Land, Shinichi inspects two men in black making a deal, and Gin knocks him out and forces an experimental drug on him, shrinking his body. Professor Hiroshi Agasa warns him to tell no one; Ran, who comes to check on him, is persuaded to look after him under the name Conan Edogawa.
