Demi-soeur (2013) on Netflix

Plot summary

Nénette has spent her whole life with her mother, who brought her up alone, and her mind is that of an eight-year-old. She earns her living cleaning the community school, and her closest companion is a tortoise. When her mother dies, a place is found for her in a retirement home, but the home takes no animals. Nénette packs her suitcase, takes the tortoise and goes looking for the father she never met, with a photograph, a letter and an address to guide her. She finds Paul Bérard instead, a pharmacist who gave up his own plans to run his father's shop. Paul is not pleased to meet the half-sister who turns up at his door.
