Plot summary
After a coma, horror writer and filmmaker Grafton Torn cannot recall the events that led to it or to his leg injury. His physician recommends rest, so Grafton settles into a cabin in a peaceful location and, with a hypnotherapist and medication, tries to recover what is missing. What surfaces instead are nightmares, and they are not only his own inventions: characters from his own horror films appear alongside images that could be real memories. The nightmares do not stay in sleep. They spill into his waking life, and Grafton is left questioning whether the images are memories or madness.
