Dakota Skye (2008) on Netflix

Plot summary

Dakota Skye has spent her life hearing what people really mean when they lie to her. The lies have come from her family, her friends and her teachers, and they have made her bitter and detached from the world. At seventeen she sits apart from everything around her. Her boyfriend plays in a local rock band, she has a best friend from childhood, and still little in her life gives her joy. When Jonah arrives in town, Dakota notices within days what sets him apart: he does not lie. Getting to know him opens her eyes to something beyond the lying, and to the possibility of something better. Jonah is her boyfriend's best friend, and that is the problem she must face.
