Plot summary
The summer camp where Charlie Hinton and Phil Ryerson spent their own boyhood has fallen into ruins, so the two fathers bring their sons Ben and Max and buy a partnership from Morty, the counselor they knew as kids, who hands over the site and leaves on the vacation he has skipped for thirty years. Lance Warner, Charlie's boyhood rival, owns the luxurious Camp Canola nearby and is eager to buy Driftwood and tear it down. He challenges its campers to the Camp Olympiad, and Charlie refuses, recalling how he lost that contest to Lance as a boy. The first day of camp brings a skunk let loose by Max and an explosion in the bathroom after Phil drops a match in the dark.
