Plot summary
A woman stands accused of killing her own son and is hanged as a witch. Before she dies she lays a curse on a tree and on the children who play near it, and that act of revenge carries down through the years. The spirits of the cursed children cannot rest, and they linger in the house built over the ground where their bodies lie. The Thorson family arrives to make that house their home, Amber, Emma and Jake among them, and they start to learn what happened at the Witching Tree and whose graves lie under the floors they walk on.
