Plot summary
A package arrives at the home of Nica, who is paraplegic, and her mother Sarah, holding a Good Guys doll that neither of them ordered. Sarah throws it in the garbage, and that night Nica hears her mother scream and finds her dead. The next day Nica's older sister Barb arrives from out of town with her husband Ian, their daughter Alice and the live-in nanny Jill to settle Sarah's affairs, and Father Frank, a priest, has come to counsel them. Alice finds the doll in the bathroom and takes a liking to it. A thunderstorm knocks out the power and the phone signals.
