Plot summary
Carlton Pearson is an evangelist who draws crowds with his preaching. His thinking shifts when he questions what his faith teaches about hell. He becomes convinced that a loving God keeps no one in eternal punishment, and he calls his position the Gospel of Inclusion. From the pulpit he announces that no one is lost and that grace has already saved everyone. He holds to the new belief even as the response hardens. Members of his congregation turn away, fellow ministers distance themselves, and the controversy reaches the wider Christian community. The mentors who shaped his ministry reject him as well.
