Plot summary
Whit Yardsham, Claire Wilson and Simon Scott share an advertising agency with Howard Inlet, who has shut himself off from the world since his young daughter died. He builds domino chains at his desk, rides a bike instead of driving, and sits alone in his apartment at night, where Claire leaves food he does not eat. Their clients are leaving, and Howard, the majority shareholder, will not sell. The three hire a private investigator to prove he is unfit to run the company, and she brings them letters he has written to Love, Time and Death. Without telling him, the partners hire three actors, Amy, Raffi and Brigitte, to play those figures and confront Howard, though Claire has doubts about the plan.
