Plot summary
The growth of the illegal drug trade in Miami in the 1970s and 1980s is told through interviews with law enforcement officers, journalists, lawyers, former smugglers and gang members, and through news footage of the era. The account also follows cocaine dealer Jon Roberts. In the 1960s and early 1970s marijuana is the main import into the region. Cocaine takes its place: more of it is smuggled in, the price drops, and it reaches a wider market. Loads come in by aircraft and by boat.
