Plot summary

On a Sunday afternoon in July 2009, five children were riding in Diane Schuler's minivan when it entered the northbound Taconic State Parkway heading south and struck an SUV head-on. Eight people died, among them Schuler, her two-year-old daughter, three of her nieces and three men in the other vehicle. An autopsy found high levels of alcohol and marijuana in her system, and the public condemned her as a drunk driver. Her husband, Daniel, and her sister-in-law, Jay, argue that the toxicology report was inaccurate or that she never knowingly consumed the intoxicants, and they hire a private investigator. Family members and friends describe her movements that day.
