Plot summary
Each holiday season, Courtney Bennett hosts a Christmas Carnival on the Common behind City Hall, where she also gives skating lessons and looks after the city's outdoor skating oval. Mayor Greenwood announces that the oval will close. Courtney's appeals to the Mayor come to nothing, so she asks for help from Noah Tremblay, a former NHL hockey player and single dad who has opened a new indoor skating center in the city. His daughter Grace joins Courtney's skating class, and the two of them bond over her. Together they work out a plan to keep the oval open through the holidays.
