Plot summary
Fiona Wagner is working on a master's degree in journalism and still mourns her mother Samantha, who took her own life three years earlier. Her father, Detective Tom Wagner, investigates the death of lawyer Elliot Vincent, killed at his home by his teenage daughter, who had been given a choice by an intruder: kill her father or watch her mother, her younger brother and herself die. When pianist Simon Campbell is ordered to give up either his fingers or his hearing, Tom recognizes one offender behind both attacks. Fiona, meanwhile, is approached by someone using a codename, and she looks into the person behind it.
