Plot summary
Lou Marazano was once a feared hitman in Chicago, and twenty years of retirement have faded his reputation. With his daughter's ex-husband behind on child support payments, he cannot help her, so he goes to Lorenzo Galante, the mob boss now in charge, looking for work. Galante hesitates, then hands him a job: killing witnesses due to testify against the mob boss who held the position before him. Flowers delivered to the widow of one of the dead men bring Ralph Maloney, a veteran detective, back to a case about killings from the early 1990s. Maloney is told to drop it, but he and his partner, Elliot Walsh, go on with the investigation.
