Plot summary
Amy Atwater handles computer software for Global Explorer, an online outdoor travel magazine in Seattle, and photography is only a hobby for her. When a staff photographer is unavailable for an upcoming article, she brings her portfolio to her editor, Camilla, who agrees to the assignment if Amy sends preliminary shots for approval. The job is to photograph the waterfalls of the Pinewood Lakes area, including Redwood Falls, which has no official record. Amy is not an outdoorswoman and depends on her GPS. At the lodge she meets Mark North, a divorced tour guide who shares custody of his eleven-year-old daughter, Kyra, and who is said to know where the harder-to-find waterfalls are. Mark's colleague Tara hopes for a future with him.
