Plot summary
Roger Morneau grows up unable to reconcile his church's teaching with the Bible and decides that God is a tyrant. He walks away from religion and joins a secret society of spirit worshipers. The account is set in 1946 and is told by eyewitnesses who risk their lives to help him. Family and friends are interviewed, and they say that fallen angels are real and that prayer can change things. Among the stories are a young man who parties hard and is looking for hope, and a woman with repeated heart attacks that doctors cannot explain.
