Plot summary
Reagan Pearce, whose fame as a Hollywood actor has faded, comes to Louisiana for a film called Flashpoint. He meets the director in a hotel lobby, where fans interrupt him for photos. Strangers at a gym stare at him in a way that makes him uneasy, and though he tells his boss he wants out of the movie, he agrees to keep going. The following morning a van pulls up outside his hotel and he climbs in, believing it carries the cast and crew. Unable to remember the number he needs to check on rehearsal, he asks the other passengers. Junior, up front, offers to dial it, and then keeps the phone. The van halts at a shack in the countryside, where Mike, the driver, drags Reagan out and beats him unconscious. He comes to chained to a wall.
