Plot summary
Ugo Piazza leaves prison after three years and is picked up at once by the men he used to work with. Their boss, an American launderer known as The Americano, is certain Piazza took $300,000 during a handover and wants it back. Piazza insists he never had it, even under coercion from Rocco, The Americano's volatile right-hand man. His girlfriend, the go-go dancer Nelly Bordon, believes he took the money too, and so does the police commissario, who tries to turn him informant. Piazza visits his old godfather Don Vincenzo, now blind, and the one capo who stayed with him, Chino. The Americano offers Piazza a deal: bring back the money and work for him again.

To get a VM14 rating in Italy, the ratings board demanded cuts to the scene where Rocco tortures a courier with a razor and to the climactic scene where Rocco bludgeons Luca to death; editor Giomini felt censoring the latter lessened its intended impact.- Kobe Bryant's Nike Italia campaign made a short called "Milano Kalibro Kobe" parodying the film's characters, starring Italy footballers Giampaolo Pazzini, Gennaro Gattuso, Alberto Aquilani, Claudio Marchisio and Marco Materazzi, Dutch international Wesley Sneijder and NBA star Marco Belinelli. It was directed by poliziottesco director Enzo G. Castellari.
