Plot summary
Eight foreigners live in Málaga when the rising of July 1936 is put down by a popular rebellion. They recall what they saw and feared over the seven months that follow, and their accounts are staged as a documentary. Sir Peter Chalmers-Mitchell, Gamel Woolsey, Gerald Brenan, Mercedes Formica and Gerda Grepp are among them. The revolution in the city is followed by war across Spain and a siege of Málaga.
